Two-Day Hands-on/Demo Workshop with Linda Arbuckle Explore the magic of beautiful
majolica and understand the differences between historic and
contemporary majolica. In this hands-on workshop, attendees will
experiment on tiles or bisque ware to do glazing and decorating, using
techniques demonstrated by Linda. This session will show how to achieve
the best glaze consistency for dipping, how to plan the design in
relation to the ceramic form, and how to apply special glazes and wax
resist to specific areas to achieve the majolica ware design. She will
also show some of her work and a short video of Alan Caiger-Smith doing

a Weekend Workshop on Pouring Pots! Saturday and Sunday, June 28th and 29th / 10 to 4 each day
(with extra studio time into the evening on Saturday night)
To be held at our studio Neighborhood Potters 2034 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia
PA 19130 phone 215 236 1617. This Two Day Hands-On workshop will include demonstrations
on how to make various pouring pots using soft slabs of clay. Sandi will cover Teapots,
Pitchers and Creamers, and other small pots that pour. We will discuss how to make a pot
that is comfortable to hold while full, and that pours well. Emphasis will be put on how
to make good handles and spouts for optimum use of the pouring pots.
Some clay experience preferred.
Fee: $200 - Includes Lunch both Days & 25 lbs of cone 6 stoneware. Classroom tools will be available for workshop use. This workshop will focus on learning new techniques

Hill Country Arts Foundation Gary Huntoon - The Wheel is Just Another Tool This workshop will focus on using the potter’s wheel as a tool to throw and
alter forms, combining the thrown forms with handbuilt forms. Some wheel
experience is required. Pieces will only be bisque fired, no glazing due to time
